question from pve newbie - Guild Wars Forums

I've played this game awhile using the standard items you get with pvp characters. I always thought they were better/equivalent to the itms you get while pveing. Yet I still see alot of jabber on pve boards talking about prices and rarities for items dropped in pve which supposedly are no better than those you get for free with your pvp character. I was just wondering whether there actually are items dropped in pve that are better than standard pvp ones and if not then why do people devote so much time to farming in pve to buy items from there.

Player Versus player more competitive fun...

Player versus enviroment more roleplaying fun... Geting those weapons is part of the fun

PvP characters only have 2 weaponsets and can't have more than one armourset.

PvE characters are superiour to PvP characters.

PvE characters cannot use PvP equipment.

PvP characters CAN use PvE equipment.

So basically:
1. PvE chars are superiour
2. Those weapons with high value are valued for their SKIN only since most PvP-worthy PvE chars run with collectors items anyway. Vanity and rarity rule the market.
